Jeanette Thomas
Award-winning TV and radio producer, Jeanette Thomas has more than twenty years’ experience in video and communications. She has produced and directed news and documentaries all around the world, including films that have been featured at the Clinton Global Initiative, the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, and G20 meetings.
In more than a decade working for the BBC, Jeanette produced radio documentaries, talk shows, news, and short form films. For five years she covered North America for BBC News, including the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, the 9/11 airline attacks, earthquakes in El Salvador, the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, and the economic crash and elections in Argentina.
Jeanette spent over eight years as a senior manager and communications adviser at the World Bank where she created a world-class multimedia presence for CGAP (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor), and led a team of communications professionals responsible for all aspects of Web, publishing, positioning, branding, and messaging. In 2005 Jeanette created the CGAP Photo Contest, an annual photography contest drawing thousands of entries from all regions of the world, featured in exhibitions in India, Spain, London, New York, Mexico City, and Beijing, and at the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.
She has published hundreds of articles on development issues. She has a Ph.D from Oxford University.
